Pineapple Tamarind Agua Fresca Recipe

A refreshing beverage of pineapple and tamarind juice for your Cinco de Mayo celebration.

  • 1 fresh pineapple cut into chunks
  • 1 liter water
  • 0.25 liter tamarind juice


  • Blender
  • Sieve


  1. Let the pineapple chunks rest about an hour in the fridge. 

  2. Take half of the chunks and add them to a blender afterward and blend them until smooth. Take a bowl and place a sieve on top. While running water through the sieve, press the mashed pineapple through it as well. 

  3. Add the liquid to a drink container and add the tamarind juice. Add more water if the taste is too strong or the texture not completely liquid. Cool overnight or at least 5 hours.

  4. Serve with extra pineapple chunks in the serving glasses or the drinking jar and garnish with one pineapple chunk.
