These types of platters are what makes my heart beat faster. They’re simple platters that will wow your friends and family. How often do you see a platter that features some kind of fish? Not often, I can tell you that much! I Let’s be honest, hosting is all about wow-ing and making people feel comfortable at your home. I feel extra special when people are just delighted with what I serve to them.
Platters are a deconstructed version of a dish. It’s allowing your guests to layer the flavors in the way that fits their taste. That means that each ingredient, each food item, must be of good quality. Quality ingredients will make the flavor pop.
For this platter, I decided to go simple so that the flavor from Tonnino Tuna shines. Tonnino Tuna offers delicious wild-caught gourmet tuna. The Garlic & Capers Tuna became the star of this platter. It was different than the usual tuna so I really felt like that would be the thing that brings this platter to the next level. Everything added to the platter was meant to enhance its flavor and not overpower it. I also added the traditional tuna fillets as the supporting actress to give more options and an extra dimension to the platter.
I chose to use the Tonnino Tuna in its “naked version”. However, you can choose to make different salads with the tuna or make a mix of “naked” and salads to add to the platter.
You can expand this platter by adding some herb cream cheese, black olives, or boiled eggs. Add just one or add them all. It’s all up to you. This recipe is for 2 people, but adding more ingredients can make it a platter for 4 people, for example.

- 1 large tomato
- 1 cucumber
- 8 slices baguette
- 1 jar Tuna Fillets with Capers and Garlic from Tonnino Tuna
- 1 jar Tuna Fillets in Olive Oil from Tonnino Tuna
- 220 gr mozzarella
- 8 crackers
- 1/2 cup roasted red pepper
Start by slicing your tomatoes. Slice your cucumber lengthwise using a slicer or mandolin.
Heat a grill pan on medium heat and grill the baguette slices on both sides for about 2 minutes.
Build you platter by first adding the capers and garlic tuna to a shallow bowl. Place this one first on your serving platter. Place the tuna fillets in olive oil next to it. Next, place the bread and crackers then fill in the spaces with the mozzarella and veggies. In a bowl add the roasted red pepper and place it on the platter or next to the serving platter.
