I love that even though I’ve been spending tons of weekend in the kitchen, visit different restaurants around the world, I still can get surprised by some dishes. Aside from cheese fondue I never actually had any dip, let alone make one. I’ve seen many recipes for dips popping up on my Pinterest feed so I decided to give it a try and so I created this bacon-cheese dip recipe.

Let me tell you, this bacon-cheese dip recipe is going on the table for my next dinner party for sure. How can it not? It’s cheesy, flavorful, and a great way to interact with each other. It reminds me of when Fabian and I go to a restaurant. Depending on where we go we often order a nacho platter as an appetizer to share with each other. It’s kind of our ritual now. Maybe, this one will be our new ritual at our dinner table.

Easy Bacon-Cheese Dip Recipe

Cheese dip made out of 5 kinds of cheeses with baked bacon and onions.

  • 50 gr unsalted butter
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • 500 ml whole milk
  • 200 gr grated cheese blend
  • 250 gr bacon pieces
  • 1 onion chopped
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 tomato chopped
  • coriander chopped
  • dried basil leaves
  • baguette in slices


  • In a saucepan over low heat add the butter and let it melt. When melted add immediately the flour and whisk everything until all is blended. Add the whole milk and keep whisking until there are no lumps. Add the cheese blend gradually and keep whisking until you get a nice thick cream.
  • In a non-stick pan add the bacon and bake for about 3 minutes. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 3 more minutes. Add the bacon and onion to the cheese sauce and blend everything together. Season with pepper.
  • Transfer the cheese-bacon dip into a bowl and garnish with the chopped tomatoes, coriander and sprinkle with basil. Serve with bread slices.
